I don’t like needles so I was very hesitant to try acupuncture. Fortunately I was persuaded to try Dr. Park and it has been wonderful. Headaches, that I have been struggling with on a nearly daily basis rarely occur anymore. Fantastic!

Dr. Park is an amazing acupuncturist! He cured my wrist pain which I had been suffering from for 2 months. He also has been treating my 10-year-old son’s allergy with acupuncture and herbal therapy. His kindness and friendliness eased my son and made his fear for needles completely go away. I would love to rate him with more than 5 stars!!!

I am new to Acupuncture but not new to a holistic approach to health. I have been struggling with neck pain for over 3 years, and hip and knee pain for several years, not to the point of completely interfering with ADL but annoying when being active, and when sleeping (my hips ached when lying on my side) and I had a problem with ankle cramps. I initially had a pulse reading which Dr Park picked up on these issues without me giving my history. The people I was with at the time of the reading were skeptical but I was open to a new thought process. I have been receiving treatment for a month and my hip, knee and neck pain are virtually gone, I will have occasional twinges but on a scale of 1 to 10 of the discomfort when I feel something, it is now a 1... Being new to acupuncture, I was originally skeptical about how well it would work. However, I was very impressed when Dr. Park accurately described my symptoms through a pulse reading, without using any invasive techniques, and without knowing my prior medical history. I later received acupuncture treatment for a bad back strain, and was amazed at how quickly I received relief after a single treatment without any medication. I have since returned to address other problems, and have been equally as satisfied. Dr. Park is a knowledgeable and skilled acupuncturist with a caring staff. The office atmosphere is clean and relaxing. I won’t hesitate to use him again in the future.

The facility was very clean and the doctor is very friendly. Even though I was initially anxious about acupuncture, Dr. Park made me feel very comfortable about the treatment. I suffered very severe back and neck pains but am now much better after about one month of treatment. I strongly recommend anyone who is experiencing pain to go see Dr. Park!

The heart season is summer, and heart is considered the most yang: hot, bountiful and abundant. Yang is what is bright, moving, outward, hot and loud. Yin is what is more inward, still, dark and cooler. The color of the heart is associated with red, the climate is heat, the flavor is bitter and it’s paired organ is the small intestine (many urinary issues are due to “heart fire” heat descending). The sense aligned with heart is the tongue, and the vessels associated with heart are the tissues. The heart sound is laughing, and the emotion is joy. The heart houses what is known as the shen, which is the mind and spirit. continue reading

On average, the flu hospitalizes thousands every year, especially the young and elderly. There are also a number of deaths related to the flu, mostly due to people already having compromised immune systems.
The flu, also known as influenza, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that is caused by a number of viruses. To date, there are approximately 26 to 30 different known strains of the flu virus. This is one of the reasons the flu vaccine has only mild efficacy. The flu vaccine itself, typically only covers five to seven strains of the flu. Symptoms of the flu include fever, coughing, a sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, pains, runny nose and watery eyes. continue reading

Although sun protection is extremely important to protect against harmful UV-rays and to prevent skin cancer, next time you pick out your sunscreen, consider what you’re buying. Many common sunscreens actually contain chemicals that can be harmful to your body.

Quit the tobacco, and don’t start if you haven’t already
It should be common sense now that smoking or chewing tobacco can lead to multiple types of cancer. If you are trying to quit, you are not alone. Try joining a support group or making a plan for yourself to set goals for quitting. Facing addiction is hard, but not using tobacco can save years of your life.
A healthy, well-rounded diet can do wonders for lowering your risk of cancer and overall wellbeing. Cut out processed sugar and instead focus on whole foods such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Salmon is full of omega-3 fatty acids that have been shown to help fight cancer. Other fish that can help reduce the risk of endometrial cancer in women include halibut, sardines and tuna. continue reading
PTSD is a physiological disorder that can result from being exposed to a traumatic event. The disorder results in several different symptoms including anxiety, irritability, insomnia and flashbacks. The effects of post-traumatic stress disorder in someone’s life can be far reaching. Feelings of hopelessness, shame and despair, problems at work or with relationships, serious health problems, depression, anxiety and drug or alcohol abuse are not uncommon. For those with arthritis, exercise, no matter how little you do, is one of the best natural treatments. For those with severe arthritis, even the smallest amount of walking can make a difference. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for those with arthritis because it puts the least amount of impact on the joints. Don’t forget about physical exercise
Believe it or not, when you’re exercising your body, you’re exercising your mind as well. Aerobic exercise gets your blood pumping, which increases the oxygen going to your brain and lowers your risk of disorders such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease that can lead to memory loss. If you can, start with some exercise in the morning. This can clear your head right off the bat to stay focused and alert during the day.
